POSITION: HOUSING SUPPORT WORKER
Midnights and Weekends
POSITION SUMMARY: As a member of the Stratford/Perth Shelterlink collaborative team, the Housing Stability Worker provides direct, quality and safe supports to youth experiencing homelessness in accordance with Stratford/Perth Shelterlink’s policies, under the supervision of the Program Coordinator.

As soon as possible
− Degree or Diploma in Child and Youth Services, Social Services, Psychology, Education or equivalent education an asset or work-related experience
− Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Certification and First Aid Certificate required
− Basic counselling, team building, negotiating and mediation skills
− Working knowledge and or experience with community resources, programs and/or services as related to youth
− Office administration including experience in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
− Ability to take charge, think quickly and act appropriately in a crisis situation
− Ability to deal with unresolved situations, frequent change, delays and unexpected events and calm demeanour
− Skilled in organization, planning, creatively able to develop and communicate unique solutions to client’s problems, able to create positive energy and motivation within groups and individuals and demonstrates tolerance of ambiguity
− Demonstrates time management skills as it pertains to writing clean and concise notes for data management purposes
− Ability to meet the physical demands of the position
