Abuse and neglect are two of the major reasons why young people leave home. Several studies show that nearly 70% of homeless youth have experienced some form of sexual, physical or emotional abuse.

 

BOARD MEMBERS

The strength of our organization is vested in the community members who lead us. If you have talent or time, then the Board of Directors can use you as a vital member of Shelterlink's governance and mission!

 

BINGO COMMITTEE
Volunteer with our charity BINGO once per month at BINGO Country here in Stratford. We host about 7 BINGO events a year, lasting around 4 hours each time. It's a great way to meet new people and help raise funds for charity.

 


TOQUE COMMITTEE
host Help with out annual Toque Campaign (November to February)by getting your school or workplace involved in selling or buying toques!

 


LIVING OPTIONS FOR YOUTH PROGRAM VOLUNTEERS
(November Volunteers are always needed to work alongside staff in LOFY, a hostel program for at risk youth 16-24 years of age. Volunteers should have some education or experience in working with youth, a current (or willing to obtain) CPR/First Aid, Crisis Intervention Training and a clean criminal record.It is a great way to get hands on experience working with youth and to contribute to youth in-need!

Drop off your old cell phones & printer cartridges in the drop box at 130 Youngs Street (Conestoga building) or call us if you would like to have a drop box at your place of work/school etc. Stratford/Perth Shelterlink will receive between $0.60-$6.00 for each item collected! For every 12 items collected a tree will also be planted in our name. Visit www.thinkrecycle.com for more info.

Living Options for Youth (L.O.F.Y.) is a supervised, transitional hostel program for male and female youth. Youth are provided with life skills training, guidance and support in a safe, violence and substance free living environment. You can help support this program by sheltering a youth at our hostel.
