With support from the Perth District Health Unit and the Healthy Living initiative, residents in the Living Options for Youth Program are participating in a program aimed at providing them with the opportunity to plan and prepare nutritious meals on a budget.
Each week youth will be selected to plan, shop and prepare one nutritious meal for all the L.O.F.Y. residents. The budget will be a max. of $5 per person. The facilitator will provide the youth with information, and discuss the elements of a nutritious meal. The youth will then be responsible for finding healthy recipes, shopping and preparing the meal. The group will share their learning’s and their meal with the other residents at meal time!
