Prevention and reunification have been identified as a need for great focus and resources for Shelterlink Youth Services and we hope to do more. 

We are currently looking at ways to improve this area of our services including: 

• Shelterlink’s staff recently visited RAFT in St. Catherines for advice and inspiration. Staff are actively looking at ways to improve flow-through with our LOFY clients as well.
• Our Housing-Focused Service Implementation Lead is working to implement housing-focused shelter services, which includes working with youth to explore other safe alternatives rather than coming to shelter (known as diversion) and working with youth to develop housing plans and support their transition back to housing.
